Official Scouting Report

  • C/3BPosition Projection

07/28/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Denver is a C/3B prospect who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame stout build and plenty of physical projection remaining. At 3B, he starts with quick/fluid footwork and ability to make routine plays. Works to center the baseball and pick out hops. Athletic/low fielding position, with a low funnel, and he tries to field out front. Clean transfer, as he works to target, and throws from a 3/4 arm slot across diamond at 82mph. Behind the dish he has quick/active feet, with good primary/secondary stance, and has a loud mitt. Works thumb under and ability to stick balls. Good lateral movement, with good blocking angles, and is quick to feet on block and recover. A clean exchange into a high 3/4 release point, with a quick release, and arm velocity up to 82mph and a best pop time of 2.1 seconds. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Short/square stride, with quick hands, and late bat whip. Strength in swing, as he attacks the baseball, and gets extended through the baseball. Made hard contact into both gaps with a bat a bat exit of 90mph during BP. With another year of continued growth and development, Denver should have a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
