07/31/2009 - Pirate City World Series - Session 1 Devan is a young two-way player at 3B and in the OF with a thin, athletic looking body that shows projection as he continues to physically mature. Foot speed is near average and he must get on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet are active and aggressive in coming to get and playing through balls with his feet and hands. Defensive abilities are solid average at 3B. Arm strength is slightly above average and he needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength with carry on throws. At the plate, hitting abilities and power are solid average through a balanced approach. Swing path is compact, flashing bat speed and he shows a solid feel for the barrel. He gets uphill with his swing and needs to work on hitting the top half of the baseball. With 2 years to further develop, McClish has potential to be a solid player as he continues to improve.
