01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Devin continues to show a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. In the OF, he utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth / clean actions with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 81-83 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Devin has a ton of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

10/11/2017 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Devin showed well in all areas of his game during his time in Arizona. He currently projects as a 2-way player at the next level. On the mound, Devin touched 86 MPH, he stands over the rubber well, and has good glove side lead. His CB shows good tilt and break and he aggressively attacks hitters. In the OF, Devin takes good angles to the ball, his footwork is efficient, and his arm is strong and accurate to his target. Offensively, Devin has simple actions, a repeatable swing, and an accurate barrel to the baseball. He has good bat speed and some strength in his swing.

05/14/2017 - College PREP - Madison, WI Devin is a talented right-handed pitching prospect who is well-built and graduates in 2018. On the mound, Devin has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He maintains eye contact with his target and pitches downhill utilizing his frame. He has a controlled landing and can develop a stronger finish. Devin commands his fastball to both sides of the plate and it shows good arm side run at 82-86 MPH. His curveball has late break and good potential. Devin also features a deceptive changeup and effective sinker thrown at 76-78 MPH. Offensively, Devin has a square stance with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and square stride as his lower half leads his swing. Devin shows fast bat speed with a direct swing path staying inside the baseball. He produces square contact to all fields. Devin is a line drive hitter who uses his strength at the plate. Overall, Devin a polished RHP who has a well-rounded skill set and upside to get even better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
