07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Devin is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect that made several adjustments throughout the week at pirate city. At the hot corner, Devin is aggressive to the ball, plays through his back hand, and makes accurate throws. Presenting a low/early glove and working from the ground up will allow him to be a more consistent fielder. At the plate, Devin starts in a crouched stance, loads his hands back, and shows pop to the pull side. He needs to continue to get his front foot down on time, create separation, and be aggressive in fastball counts. On the bump, Devin gathers over the rubber, has good direction to the plate, and repeats his delivery. He needs to continue to work north to south and control the bottom part of the strike zone. Devin will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

04/08/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Orlando, FL Devin is a young, solid, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Devin has efficient footwork, soft hands, and he makes plays on balls hit his way. He has a clean exchange, and a long arm action with accuracy to his target. On the mound, Devin has a loose arm action, a repeatable delivery, and good glove side lead with direction toward his target. At the plate, Devin has an open stance, a short stride, and his hands are quick. He tracks well, has some bat speed, and uses his lower body. Devin can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Defense
1. Follow throws
2. Play lower
3. Release
Pitching
1. Lengthen arm action
2. Finish
3. CB
Offense
1. Balance
2. Swing path
3. Contact points

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
