02/23/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Sioux Falls, SD Devyn is a lean OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Devyn shows proper footwork and makes the routine plays. Getting into a more athletics fielding position can help Devyn improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load well and leads with his lower half. He gets good extension through the ball and makes consistent contact. Getting into his load sooner can help Devyn improve as a hitter. With three more years to develop, Devyn has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Devyn shined once again at the event in Pirate City. In the OF, he displays fluid / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to continue to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. At the event, he was 1 for 3 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a great teammate.

09/16/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Parkville (Kansas City), MO Devyn continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. In the OF, he displays fluid / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate, but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

08/05/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Devyn continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He utilizes his quick feet well in working to get behind balls and plays through well with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

02/24/2018 - National Tryout - Sioux Falls, SD Devyn showed hitting and defensive improvements at his last workout in Sioux Falls. At the plate, Devyn stands in athletically, he swings in good rhythm, and stays inside the baseball well. He has good separation, he can hit to all fields, and gets solid extension through the ball. In the OF, Devyn makes plays consistently, he reads the ball off the bat well, and throws with accuracy to his cut off man. Devyn is a hard worker who continues to progress, exemplifying the 6th tool. This 2022 grad has a ton of upside.

12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Devyn is a tall and athletic 2022 OF/3B prospect. In the OF, Devyn gets good reads off the bat and attacks ground balls. Continuing to have an active prep step, working behind the ball, and following through on his throws will help Devyn keep runners from advancing bases. At the plate, Devyn starts in a closed stance. He tracks the ball well, and hits the ball to all fields. Creating more rhythm in the load will allow him to get his hands into the launch position more consistently. Attacking the inside part of the ball and driving the back side will allow Devyn to hit the ball gap to gap with power. Devyn is a very respectful player that tries hard to make adjustments. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/22/2017 - College PREP - Stillwater (Minneapolis), MN Devyn is a lean, projectable OF prospect who shows nice potential on the field. He displays advanced bat to ball skills with the ability to make square contact with impressive consistency. His setup in the box is balanced and athletic as he shows an opposite field approach to cover the whole strike zone. He is on time with his front foot and uses his lower half well to generate bat speed through the zone to contact. In the outfield, he is aggressive working to groundballs with active feet to work through the ball. He presents his hands to field square to the ball to make plays cleanly and make accurate throws to his target. Implementing a long toss program will improve arm strength and make him a complete defender. Devyn is a young, potential-filled prospect we are excited to watch develop.

08/07/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Devyn is an OF/3B who will graduate in 2023. At the hot corner, he takes a quick 1st step and makes aggressive lateral angles when fielding GB's. In the OF, he takes aggressive routes when tracking down fly balls. He gets behind, gathers and throws to his target. Offensively, this lefty gets into a strong loading stance. He extends his bat through the zone and makes consistent contact with each pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1.	Field out in front
2.	Arm strength
3.	Quick footwork
Offense
1.	Lower ½ drive
2.	Bat speed
3.	Timing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
