11/01/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Bradenton (Tampa), FL Diante is a C/3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, Diante shows quick footwork and covers up well when blocking. He receives with soft hands and has a quick exchange, making accurate, on-line throws to the 2B bag. Sitting in a wider stance can help Diante improve his overall catching ability. At 3B, Diante shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is smooth and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Diante can field ground balls more efficiently by getting his glove down to the ball sooner. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He hits against a strong front side and stays direct to the ball, producing solid gap to gap pop. Developing a smoother load can help Diante be more controlled throughout his swing. With four more years to develop, Diante has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/03/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Tampa, FL Diante is a small and athletic 2022 utility player. At 2B, Diante starts in an athletic stance, he creates angles to the ball, and plays through slow rollers. He has good footwork to the ball and makes accurate throws. Behind the dish, Diante presents a high target and tries to work behind the ball when receiving. When blocking, he leads with his glove and throws his body in front of the ball. At the plate, Diante starts in a squared stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and gets his front foot down on time. He tracks the ball well and has a pull side approach. Diante will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Diante is a lean, athletic prospect who has made big improvements to his game. He can pick it at second with smooth, soft hands and makes all of the plays a middle infielder should. He does good work pre-pitch to get in position and has efficient feet to the ball. He gets low to field and has a quick exchange and release on the DP and to make accurate throws. At the dish, he keeps his head on the ball and shows strong pitch recognition to grind out at bats. He is smooth to work on a level path and make consistent line drive contact. Staying through the ball will lead to more hard contact. Diante is a player we want to continue watching as he develops.

01/07/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Bradenton (Tampa), FL Diante is a small, young, 2-way player who catches and pays 2nd base. Behind the plate, Diante has active feet, firm hands, and he tries hard to keep the ball in front when blocking. He has good direction, and a short arm action with accuracy and momentum toward his target. In the INF, Diante has playable hands and feet, and he makes routine plays on balls hit his way. He has a clean exchange and consistency to 1st base. Offensively, Diante has an athletic set-up, a short stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He stands in well balanced, makes consistent contact, and can spray to all fields. Diante is a nice young player and can improve with work on the following.

2. Fielding position
3. Quicken footwork
Catching

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
