12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Diego is a quick/athletic (6’3"/185 lbs) 3B/RHP who showed well at the Academic All-American Tournament. From 3B, he has above average arm strength (85 mph arm velo) while also being capable of delivering the ball accurately from a high 3/4 arm slot. He shows a quick first step when approaching the ball and works through it athletically. He has also improved at the plate as well, with his highest exit velo to date (85 mph exit velo). His controlled rhythm and timing allow him to coordinate his hands and hips creating consistent contact toward the center of the field. From the mound, he shows a two-pitch mix (FB/CB) in which he pounds the zone with. He uses his size to his advantage, allowing him to throw on a downhill plane. Arm action is clean and loose. Barraz compliments his FB (80-81 mph) with a CB (54-57) that has good depth and tight spin, with potential for being an effective strikeout pitch. Overall, Diego shows the potential to become a complete player at the next level.
