01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Diego is a OF in the 2024 class. In the field, he has active feet and gains ground to the baseball with solid speed (7.08 runner). He positions himself behind the baseball and works low to the ground. Glove has feel and awareness. His exchanges are clean and gains a quick release from a ¾ slot. Arm has life (84 velo) and working to throw the top of the baseball will improve accuracy. At the plate, he has athletic actions and is free and easy. Has a quiet load and still head to maintain his balance inside his feet. Path is on-plane and shows quick hands (84 exit velo). Demonstrates solid line drive production to the gaps. Overall, Diego is a must follow in the 2024 class.

09/02/2022 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) with Video Showcase Diego continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the All-Region tournament. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ball but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (82 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and works through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing through an aggressive hip turn. At the event he was 2 for 8 with 2 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Diego continues to show as a prospect with improvements his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas showcase. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.03 runner. At 2B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and play through with is body he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with carry to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine, through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 5 with a 2B, 3B, and 5 BB. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and great team player.

09/26/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Corpus Christi, TX Diego is a 2B/OF who will graduate in 2024. Athletic build with strength present and room to fill out. At 2B, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and active/efficient footwork. Fields from the ground up, with a low funnel, as he tries to center ball. Clean transfers into an over-the-top release point. Accurate/on-line throws recorded up to 81mph across the diamond. At the plate, he starts with an even stance. Quiet head/eyes enable him to track pitches well. Good bat angle at contact, with extension out front, and ability to hit line drives to all fields. Had a bat exit velocity of 83mph in BP action. In the outfield, he shows active footwork and the ability to play downhill.Shows good reads off the bat with ability to get quick first steps. Continued to show athletic actions in the outfield. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
