05/25/2021 - 2021 BF National South Showcase There is an awful lot to like in Diego! His loud tools - 6'4", 210-pound frame, 6.59 speed and 100 mph exit velocities - tell part of the story, and his ability to use those tools in game play makes him special! He took an excellent BP and followed it up in the games by going 3-4 with a double. His swing is simple and direct with no wasted movement and it allows him to find the barrel with regularity. He swings with a big barrel - keeping it in the hitting zone for a long time and there is power to all fields present. Defensively, his plus speed leads to excellent range and he has a strong, accurate arm to round out his game. It is easy to envision Diego patrolling CF and hitting in the middle of an order for many years to come.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
