10/31/2010 - College PREP - Greensboro, NC Dillion is a young 2B with a solid, athletic frame that is well suited for his position and shows projection as he continues to physically mature. Feet are active but he needs to be more aggressive in coming to get and playing through the baseball with his body. He moves well laterally and presents his hands down and out front but his glove action is late at times due to his feet stopping through the fielding process. Throws are consistent but he will benefit by getting on a long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength and carry. Offensively, Spencer shows a balanced approach and works to keep his hands inside the ball as he utilizes the middle of the field. Power numbers will increase as he learns to transfer weight properly through the swing. With 2 years to further develop, Dillion has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
