06/09/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Dillon continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with the makings of a special type player at the next level. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way (6.58 60 time). Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (87 mph velocity) on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field. On the mound, fastball showed range of 84-86 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with tailing action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Command / control is solid as he attacks hitters and locates to both sides of the plate.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Only a 2019 grad, Dillon is an outstanding young prospect with an impact bat. He has a strong, athletic frame that is proportioned and will continue to mature. His left-handed swing is pure and coordinated leading to barrel accuracy and hard contact. He has a knack for staying behind the ball while still making a full, aggressive move through contact into his finish. Dillon is confident in the box showing good patience while going 2-3 with 2 walks in game play. He's also a quality defender in the outfield with instincts and a strong, accurate arm. Dillon also jumped on the mound and showed a quality 3-pitch mix while striking out 8. A talented 2-way player Dillon will be a player to watch closely over the next few years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
