Official Scouting Report

  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

07/10/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Dillon is a 2023 2B/RHP out of Franklin, MA who worked hard to improve his ability at the Cape Cod Training and Competition. At 2B, he starts on the balls of his feet with active feet and gets good reads off of the bat. Closes distance on batted balls as he fields out front from an on-time fielding position with firm hands. Made accurate throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with good momentum towards target, and an arm velocity up to 79mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance with comfortable hands. He showed fluid timing to swing with a fast barrel through the hitting zone. He rotates his lower half well as he made consistent contact to all fields. At the event, he reached base on a double to LCF and was hit by a pitch. On the mound, he separates his hands on-time, with a clean arm stroke, and strides in-line towards target. He attacks hitters with a FB that had some arm side run, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and an 11/5 shaped slider with tight spin. Showed good feel/command for his FB and breaking ball. In 2 innings of work, he punched out 2 hitters and threw 54% of his pitches for strikes. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Dillon as he enters his senior year.

05/08/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Wappinger Falls, NY Dillon is a SS/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Dillon shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is quick and he makes accurate/on-line throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with center balance. He is smooth to load and works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, spraying the ball to all fields. On the mound, Dillon gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He extends through his release and finishes with a controlled landing. Dillon operates with a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph with sinking action. Curveball sits from 61-63mph with 12-6 break. Slider sits from 65-68mph with sharp 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 64-66mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Dillon is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/28/2021 - All-In Membership - Marlborough (Boston), MA Dillon is a 2B in the class of 2023 out of Franklin, MA. Defensively, he displayed active footwork by attacking the baseball and reading hops to catch the ball clean and make all the plays on the diamond. He made accurate throws to his target as well as good feeds on the double play ball. Offensively, he used an open stance with smooth timing to find balance and work directly to the ball with good intent. He stayed through the middle of the field with his approach and showed gap to gap power. Dillon is an aggressive player with good instincts and we believe will get looks from college recruiters soon if not already.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
