12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Dillon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 2B, feet are active as he attacks balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Behind the plate, he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.58. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

10/01/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Dillon is a skilled (2022 grad) as a 2B/C. Defensively at 2B, he shows smooth actions as he works into a low/athletic fielding position on GB's. He funnels the ball with soft hands and comes up with a quick/clean exchange to throw. Behind the plate, he displays a low setup/stance with active feet. He gives a solid target and stays directional on his throws down to 2B. With the bat, Dillon is a line drive hitter with patience. He stays balanced as he swings on a direct path through the zone and drives pitches on a line. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Be on time
2. Work around GB
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Catching
1. Develop softer hands
2. Quicker to block and recover
3. Finish throw
Offense
1. Develop rhythm
2. Improve bat speed
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
