01/24/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - San Jose, CA Dillon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Dillon is an athletic and hard working 2025 catching prospect. Behind the dish, Dillion starts in a balanced primary stance and presents a low target. He works behind the ball and tracks the ball into his glove when receiving. He leads with his glove to block and creates a good angle over the ball. Improving hip mobility will increase his ability to block laterally. He has a clean exchange, a quick release, and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Dillion starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and gets his front foot down on time. He creates backside rotation with his lower half, he shows the ability to hit the ball to the pull side, and has good pitch recognition. He needs to continue to have a middle approach, hunt the fastball, and attack the inside part of the ball. Dillion will continue to improve through experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
