12/08/2019 - College PREP - Martinez, CA Dillon is a tall, lean, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, Dillon has quick feet, agile range, and he presents his glove well. He is quick to block, he has a good chest angle, and is quick to recover. He looks the ball into is glove well, and has a short/accurate arm with pop times as low as 2.01 seconds to 2nd base. A higher arm slot and added strength will only help catching get even better. On the mound, Dillon has good balance, a clean arm circle, and he separates his hands on time. He has good glove side lead, gets solid pivot off his back foot, and he throws strikes. Added arm extension and a better finish will help mound effectiveness improve. At the plate, this RHH has a tall stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, he swings on plane, and he hits line drives using his lower body. A sooner stride foot and keeping a more still head will help solid hitting get even better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
