07/29/2013 - Under Armour Southwest Championships, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Dillon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities both on the mound and in the OF. Arm strength has improved, now showing as outstanding as he threw his best velocity to date, topping out at 85 mph. Fastball showed a range of 82-85 mph with solid arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with downward action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing an outstanding feel for with arm side run. Off speed pitch are outstanding and will get outs at the next level. He attacks hitters throwing strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate and changes speeds well. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.21 runner. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in tracking down balls in the OF through proper routes / angles. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup with balance and rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a short / level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding the bat when centered as he now shows outstanding power numbers. He has an upside on the mound and will get a ton of looks from the collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.

02/03/2013 - College PREP - Houston, TX Dillon is a lanky, athletic LHP/OF that will graduate in 2014. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls through an aggressive approach. He move well laterally and works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Throws display life, accuracy and on line carry through his target. At the plate, Turney continues to shine through an athletic setup. He loads well and gets his body into a strong hitting position. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed to and through a level swing path, displaying extension. He has strength in his swing with the baseball exploding off his bat when centered. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 80-83 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. Dillon has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way player.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
