12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Dominic continues to show the makings of a special type player with improvements in his baseball abilities. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry on his throws. At the plate, hitting and power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 65-70 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/06/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Spokane, WA Dominic showed nice improvements in his game at his last workout in Spokane. He raised arm velocity to 71 MPH, lowered 60 time to 8.71 seconds, and showed defensive upgrades. On the mound, Dominic has good balance over the rubber and a loose arm circle. He separates his hands on time, lands with a controlled landing toward home, and he competes in the zone. At 3rd, Dominic has good range, efficient footwork, and he makes plays consistently. He has a good glove angle, a clean exchange, and a quick/accurate arm to his target. Offensively, Dominic has a square stance, good balance, and fast bat speed. He takes square stride toward the pitcher and can spray to all fields. Dominic can continue to get better with work on the following.

Defense
1. Play more through
2. Balance
Pitching
1. Avoid rushing
2. Stay direct
Offense
1. Swing path
2. Rhythm
3. Finish

12/27/2018 - 2018 Inaugural West Coast Winter Classic - La Verne, CA Dominic is a coachable RHP/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the West Coast Winter Classic. On the mound, Dominic starts with a small rock step and gathers to a balance point over the rubber. He separates his hands on time and works with a loose arm, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Dominic shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 66mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 52-57mph with 10-4 break. Dominic can improve as a pitcher by consistently getting his arm extended through his release. In the field, Dominic shows active footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands. He makes a two-handed exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, working to keep them accurate to his target. Dominic can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a solid swing from both side. He sets up in a closed stance and takes a controlled stride. He is on time getting into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact. Consistently taking a square stride towards the pitcher can help Dominic improve as a hitter. With five more years to develop, Dominic has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

10/07/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Spokane, WA Dominic is a strong, 2-way player who can switch hit. At 3B, Dominic has efficient footwork, he presents his glove well, and fields in a square position. He has good range, a smooth backhand, and throws with consistency across the diamond. On the mound, Dominic has a free arm circle, he keeps his eyes on target, and gets good extension on his pitches. He has a controlled landing toward home and competes in the zone. At the plate, Dominic is equally as good from both sides of the plate. From the right side, Dominic has quiet approach, quick hands, and a line drive approach. From the left, Dominic has a good set-up, he swings on plane, and he uses some lower body. Overall skills can get better if Dominica can work on the following.

Infield
1. Exchange
2. Arm strength
3. Play more through
Pitching
1. Stay direct
2. Finish
3. Off-speed
Offense
1. Load
2. Swing path
3. More lower body

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
