09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Dominic continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting / power potential is outstanding through an open setup. Hands are strong (89 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.15 with accuracy on his throws. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 74-77 mph with sink, Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2019 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Dominic is a coachable C/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. Behind the plate, Dominic sits in a low stance and receives with a firm glove. He gets into an athletic secondary stance and throws from a high 3/4 angle, keeping his throws on the proper side of the 2B bag. Moving to block sooner can help Dominic improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load on time and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to great gap to gap pop. Dominic can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter swing path. On the mound, Dominic gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 62-69mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 64-65mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Dominic improve as a pitcher. Overall, Dominic is a solid prospect who should find success going into his junior season.

08/14/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Trenton, NJ Dominic continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength through a long toss program. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.34 range with accuracy on his throws. He shows a squared setup and receives the ball well. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball and shows a feel for the barrel through a solid line drive approach.

07/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Dominic continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying outstanding hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball with gap-to-gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.35 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone through an athletic setup. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player, coachable, and plays the game hard.

12/16/2018 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Dominic is a strong C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, Dominic shows efficient footwork and covers up well when blocking. He sits in a low stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He makes a quick exchange and makes accurate, on-line throws to the 2B bag. Dominic can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH, sets up in an athletic stance and gets back into his load well. He drives through with his lower half and takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Taking a shorter stride can help Dominic improve as a hitter. On the mound, Dominic gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Dominic shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 68-71mph with 9-3 break. Changeup sits from 63-65mph with sinking action. Dominic can improve as a pitcher by driving his lower half more. With two more years to develop, Dominic has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/03/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching Weekend (Ages 14-18) Dominic is an athletic and talented 2021 catching prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching Weekend. Behind the dish, Dominic starts in a balanced primary and athletic secondary stance. He presents a low target and works behind the ball. Working under low pitches and eliminating post pitch manipulation will allow him to control the ball longer in the strike zone. He leads with his glove and controls balls with his chest when blocking. Continuing to work on hip mobility will allow him to block side to side and get his lower half in a strong foundation. He has a clean exchange, a quick release, and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing to the bases. Dominic will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

02/10/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18) Dominic is a hard working and athletic prospect that made several adjustments during the hitting accelerated training weekend. At the plate, Dominic starts in an athletic stance and loads his back into the launch position. He creates pre pitch rhythm and attacks the ball with his lower half showing pull side pop. Continuing to have a middle approach and staying balanced through contact will allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Dominic will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/17/2017 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Dominic is a young, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, Dominic sits-in quietly, presents his glove well, and tracks well. He has soft hands, keeps the ball in front when blocking, and throws with consistency to 2nd base. On the mound, Dominic has a repeatable delivery, a clean arm action, and he separates on time. He gets good extension on his pitches, has a controlled landing, and rotates through to his target. More lower body and glove-side lead can help mound effectiveness get better. Offensively Dominic has a square set-up, short stride, and good balance. He has a short/direct barrel to the ball and can hit hard to the pull side. Looser actions, better timing, and better barrel accuracy will help hitting numbers improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
