Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Dominic displayed his best ability to date at the Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. Defensively at short, he was aggressive in his approach of ground balls, and threw with some carry across the diamond. Offensively, he worked in the middle of the field with his approach and was direct with the barrel down to contact. He worked to all fields well, allowing the ball to travel to all contact points. More power lives in his untapped lower half and he could become more fluid to allow for late explode. On the hill, he ran his FB with run & sink up to 82, and spun an 11/5 CB from 65-67. He worked downhill nicely and commanded the lower half of the zone. All in all - Dominic will come into his own as a hitter with his lower half and has great projection in the game.

09/06/2015 - College PREP - San Francisco, CA Dominic is a 2-way, strong-built 2017 grad with next level tools. Defensively, he works to the ball with a mature approach and fields out front with a smooth transfer to his accurate arm. Working to get around the ball more to get momentum towards his target will help add life to his throws and maintain accuracy. On the mound, he works downhill with a compact 3/4 arm slot. He fills up the zone with 3 different pitches (FB 78-80 / CB 65-69 / CH 70-73), which makes him a tough arm to face in any rotation. Using his lower 1/2 more and using his height on his stride will improve velo and engage with lower 1/2 with ease. At the plate, this RHH hits with a balanced, square stance with rhythm in his hands. His strong hands and powerful lower 1/2 produce line drives deep into the gaps. Dominic is a talented player with time on his side as he polishes his skills on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
