01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Dominic is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who showed well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Dominic gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and throws from a high 3/4 angle, keeping his throws accurate with good backspin through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a square stride. He is on time getting into a simple load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and pull side pop. On the mound, Dominic gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Dominic shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph. Breaking ball sits from 65-69mph with 10-4 break. Overall, Dominic is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

09/15/2019 - College PREP - Moosic (Scranton), PA Dominic is a hard working 2-way prospect that just continues to excel. This righty stands out at the plate with an aggressive approach as he's ready to launch balls. Swing is quick as the ball explodes off of his barrel to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 92 mph). In the OF, active footwork and good angles put him into position behind the fly-ball. Transfer is smooth with accuracy on his throws. On the bump, FB now tops out at 83 mph while showing good, late run. He pounds the zone and throws strikes. His slider has 11/5 shape with good action complimenting his FB well. An all-around talent, Dominic has worked hard to prove he can play and compete at a high level.

10/17/2018 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Dominic continues to show as a prospect on the diamond as he continues to improve his baseball tools. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry on his throws. Range is a plus as he continues to improve his foot quickness (7.35 60 time) and reads balls well off the bat, covering a lot of ground. At the plate he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a short / direct swing path as he stays inside the ball utilizing all fields. He has strength in his swing, displaying gap to gap power. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Fastball shows a range of 77-81 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with slight tail. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches, working to get ahead of hitters. He has deception, maintains composure, and is a bull dog on the bump. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and is very coachable as he works hard to be the best player he can be.

09/24/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Scranton, PA Dominic worked out in the OF and on the mound during his last workout in Scranton. Hitting grades and velocity off the mound showed improvement. At the plate, Dominic shows an aggressive approach, good balance, and pop in his bat. He makes hard/consistent contact, has a direct barrel to the ball, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. On the hill, Dominic increased his velocity to 80 MPH. He shows a good arm angle, and he stays tall. He drives well with his backside and rotates through to his target. In the OF, Dominic moves well to the ball, feet are efficient, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He has a quick exchange and a short/quick arm action to his target.

07/24/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Dominic is a hard working 2 way player that continues to impress as he grows. At the hot corner, he shows very active feet, working around and attacking the ball to get into a proper position to make strong/accurate throws. Fielding slightly lower with his hips, which will get his hands out in front will improve the sureness of his hands. On the mound he shows very good control with his fastball and 10-4 curveball, stemming from his strong balance and clean arm action. At the plate, Dominic is a very aggressive hitter that shows impressive power to his pull side, a product of his good setup, square stride and loaded hands that explode through the zone. Keeping his head still through his swing will result in more consistent contact to compliment his power. Overall a very solid player already, Dominic will be an exciting prospect to track over the years.

12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Dominic is progressing very well in the game from offense to defense to pitching. Defensively at the hot corner, he is working low to make plays and stays through ground balls to gain momentum to throw. He used the proper footwork to throw after catch and should continue to implement a throwing program for even more strength. Offensively, he was soft to stride on his front side, allowing his head to stay centered and his lower half to get engaged to hit. He generated good bat whip through the zone and rotated his core to help the torque. On the hill, he threw a FB with run and sink, and spun a 10/4 SL to help keep hitters off balance. He kept the ball down in the zone and wasn't afraid to attack hitters. In all - Dominic is a great kid that works hard and asks questions to improve and take his game to the next level.

07/06/2015 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition Dominic is a solid 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2020 with a promising future on the diamond. Currently, he projects best at 3B for the next level. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a short / direct swing path. He works to stay inside the ball and shows plus barrel accuracy, displaying gap to gap pop. At 3B, he moves well laterally, displaying range. He attacks balls with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process. Throws are accurate with carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 63-67 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Dominic has the makings of a special type player as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
