Official Scouting Report

12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Dominic continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 73 mph. Fastball shows good tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters, working to get ahead. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/07/2018 - College PREP - Parker (Denver), CO Dominic is an athletic and talented 2019 2-way prospect. At the hot corner, Dominic is on time with his prep step, reads the ball off the bat, and presents a low/early glove. He plays through his backhand, has clean exchange, and makes strong throws across the diamond. At the plate, Dominic starts in a tall stance, get the barrel flat to the ball, and hits off a firm front side. He has good pitch recognition and keeps a middle approach. On the bump, Dominic gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and extends thru his delivery. His fastball has sink, his curveball has a tight break, and his slider has a medium break. Dominic will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
