Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 14-18)
Donald is a 2021 2B that made several adjustments throughout the training weekend. At 2B, Donald has an active prep step and works to creates angles to the ball. He presents a low/early glove, works from the ground up, and funnels the ball into his body. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Donald starts in an open stance, keeps the barrel on plane with the ball, and stays balanced through contact. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create rotation in the back hip to the ball, and keep his head down at contact. Donald will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
07/07/2017 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14)
Donald continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At 2B, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
