12/20/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Donavon is an OF/RHP in the class of 2022. This solid framed (5'10/170) prospect has great make up. He is coachable, works hard and is respected by his teammates. Defensively, he has active feet and works to get behind the baseball. He has proper momentum through the ball and gets directional to his targets. His exchanges are clean and produces accurate feeds. Creating a more loose arm action on his throws will create further carry. On the mound he displays a 3 pitch mix. His FB topped out at 75 with all types of action (cut/sink/run). His CB sat at 63 with 11/5 shape. His change (68 mph) is an effective pitch due to his usage of fastball arm speed. Staying tall in his power position will allow him to use his backside and get down the hill effectively. This should generate added velo to his arsenal. At the plate, he uses the whole field. He has a simple quiet approach and loads well in the trigger phase. Overall, Donavon has shown he belongs on a college roster next fall.

11/07/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Donavon is an OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. In the field, Donavon shows active footwork and covers ground well. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate/on-line throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid to load and works through a short swing, producing strong line drives. On the mound, Donavon gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He stays inline toward the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Donavon operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 71mph. Breaking ball sits from 61-62mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 63-66mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Donavon is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
