09/21/2013 - 2013 Under Armour Futures Series East - Jupiter, FL Petrey has a well rounded set of tools, highlighted by his hitting ability. He ran 7.03 in the 60 yard dash on a slightly soft track, and got down the line as well as 4.28 from the left side of the plate. He hit from an athletic crouch, and simply and quietly moved his hands back along with a small stride to trigger his swing. He generated great bat speed on a short path to contact, and consistently delivered the good part of the barrel to contact. He hit the ball hard all over the field in BP, with his approach appearing to be geared for back up the middle of the field. He was aggressive in game at bats, clearly went up to the plate looking to hit good pitches early in the count. Defensively, he moved well and maintained body control in his approach to the ball. His arm worked well, and his throws left his hand with life and held that life into the target. It is hard to find a weakness in his game, he combines run and throw tools with hand-eye coordination and natural hitting ability.
