11/02/2023 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at JRTC Donovan is a strong 5ft 9/180 1B/RHP in the 2025 class. In the field, he shows a feel for the position and centers his body to the baseball. Presents the glove well and the ball sticks to the pocket. His exchanges are clean and gains a short and quick release. On the mound he shows great composure and is around the zone. His FB sat 64 and worked low in the zone. His CB shaped 10-4 at 46. His CH ranged 45-6 and shows confidence in the pitch. At the plate, he has a strong barrel from a tall and squared stance. Bat speed registered 76 exit velo and he can spray the baseball to all parts of the field. Overall, scouts enjoyed his leadership abilities and confident in his work ethic.

07/10/2023 - National Showcase - Houston, TX Donovan is a 1B/RHP who will graduate high school in 2025. At 1B he works to center the baseball and shows ability to pick out hops. He made accurate throws to first base from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 64mph. Showed good feel at first base. On the mound he works with good direction and is balanced at release. Has a clean arm stroke and keeps his fingers on top of baseball. Throws a FB that sits 58-63mph that is around the zone, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. FB was best pitch during his bullpen. At the plate he starts with an athletic and square stance. Shows ability to track ball to barrel and keeps his head quiet. A direct barrel path enables him to hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph during his round of BP. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
