Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

08/18/2019 - College PREP - Uniondale (Long Island), NY Douglas is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Douglas shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a clean exchange. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Douglas improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting into his load and leads well with his lower half, leading to solid contact. Douglas can improve as a hitter by having a more level swing path. On the mound, Douglas gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes square to his target. Douglas shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-62mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 65-67mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Loosening his arm action can help Douglas improve as a pitcher. Overall, Douglas is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
