01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Drew is an athletic RHP/OF prospect who showed well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. On the mound, Drew keeps his glove centered in his balance point and shows fluid hand separation. He works with a loose arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Drew shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 84mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 69-71mph with late 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 70-73mph with arm side run. In the field, Drew shows active footwork and stays directional through the ball. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a centered stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated in a small load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and good raw power. Overall, Drew is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

10/02/2019 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Drew is a coachable RHP/OF prospect who showed well during the Arizona Fall Classic. On the mound, Drew shows a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 87mph with arm side run. Curveball sits from 67-70mph with late 11-5 break. Slider sits from 71-74mph with sharp movement. Changeup sits from 75-77mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Drew takes a good first step and moves quickly to the ball. He makes quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance with his hands held high. He is on-time getting into a small load and rotates his core well, driving the ball to his pull side. Overall, Drew is a talented prospect who should find success going into his junior season.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Drew is a tall RHP/OF prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. On the mound, Drew gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Drew shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 85mph. Breaking ball sits from 68-72mph with 11-5 break. In the field, Drew shows active footwork and stays directional through the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gets good backspin on his throws. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He gets into a simple load and drives though well with his lower half. His hips and hands work well together, leading to solid contact. Overall, Drew is a solid two-way prospect who should find success in this, his sophomore season.

07/18/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Drew continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has the makings of a special type player on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities are now well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Range is a plus as reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with on line zip (85 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 84-85 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late / sharp break and shows as an outstanding pitch. Control is outstanding as he pounds the zone and throws strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable, and plays the game hard. With 3 years to further develop, Drew has a big upside on the mound and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

03/04/2018 - College PREP - Indianapolis, IN Drew is a strong and talented 2021 OF/RHP prospect. In the OF, Drew has an athletic pre pitch set up and a quick first step to the ball. He works behind the ball and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing. At the plate, Drew starts in an even stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He has a quick barrel to the ball and stays balanced through contact. On the bump, Drew gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and finishes over the front side. He has life to his fastball and will continue to dominate with that pitch by further developing his breaking ball. Drew will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/27/2017 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Drew continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has the makings of a special type player at the next level. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. On the mound, arm strength has really improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 85 mph. Fastball shows good late life, exploding on hitters. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tail in the 71-75 mph range. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target and gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate he shows an open setup and good plate discipline. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best he can be. Drew will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

03/05/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Indianapolis, IN Drew continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate he improved now showing solid hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He shows strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, displaying gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He will benefit by working to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Range will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. He shows good tempo through a strong balance point. Fastball showed a range of 75-78 mph with sinking. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with good sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Drew has the makings of a special type player as he continues to progress his game.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Drew is an athletic OF/RHP who continues to impress on the diamond. In the field, Drew shows a controlled approach to ground balls and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He gets into a square position and fields the ball with firm hands. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to be consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride to the ball. He gets into his load and comes through the zone well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to square contact and line drives. On the mound, Drew shows good composure and extends through well on his release. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph with good cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 69-71mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Drew is a talented prospect who will be a name to follow.

09/25/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Indianapolis, IN Drew is a tall, talented two-way player with great upside in his overall game. As an OF, Drew plays with fluid footwork giving him the ability to play each position above average range. He does a nice job with a low approach receiving the ball softly with a clean exchange. Drew throws from a desired OF arm slot over the top with a loose arm action. He plays with momentum towards his target and his throws are online with carry. Offensively, Drew has square, balanced stance with a short stride and lower half leading the way. As a RHP, Drew throws from a high 3/4 slot with a loose, clean arm action. He does a nice job maintaining square direction towards home plate with his eyes on the target. Drew works with a FB 75-78 MPH and an 11-5 breaking CB with good tilt at 63-66 MPH. He also commands his change-up with arm side run at 71-74 MPH. Overall skills will improve with work on the following.

07/24/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Drew continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity at 77 mph. Fastball shows a range of 74-77 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. In the OF, feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat but needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target to improve defensive grade. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an uphill swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a team player. Overall, Drew has a lot of potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Drew is a very coachable, hardworking player with promising future on the diamond. In the OF he takes proper routes / angles to track down fly-balls hit to his right and left. He works into position behind the ball and plays through well. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. Continuing to develop his foot speed will help to increase range in the OF. At the plate, hands are quick and work through level swing path and line drive type approach. Power numbers will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. At the event, he was 4 for 9. On the mound, fastball showed in the mid 70 range arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with tight spin and short break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all of his pitches, attacking the zone. With 5 years to further develop, Drew has a lot of potential with still a ton of time to progress.

09/06/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Indianapolis, IN Drew is a R/R 2-way player as an OF/RHP. In the OF, he shows active footwork with good routes/angles to track down the fly-ball. He secures the ball with 2-hands, gathers well and makes accurate throws into his target. With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup with good balance. He takes a level hack and drives the ball back up the middle of the field. On the bump, Drew has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot from a clean arm slot. He keeps his eyes on the target and gets good glove side lead. FB ranges from 71-74 mph with good run. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape as he commands it well. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
