01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Drew possesses a skill set that is hard to find, and always in demand. He brings to the table useable speed, the ability to switch-hit, and an aggressive energy on the field that is outstanding. He ran a 6.65 in the 60 at this event in Arizona, and it plays. He has instincts on the bases and no fear which results in constant pressure on the defense and plenty of stolen bases each time we see him. At the plate, Drew swings with authority from both sides of the plate and flashes the ability to drive the ball in the gaps. This strong, athletic young prospect also has a great motor making him a premium outfield prospect in the deep 2017 class.

10/17/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Waters stands at 6-foot-2 and 183 pounds with long limbs, broad shoulders and room to fill out as he matures. His present tools are advanced across the board, while his future potential is what makes him the most interesting. A switch-hitter, he featured bat speed and hand-eye coordination both ways, along with the ability to track and react to quality stuff live in game at bats both ways. It is difficult to determine if he is better or more natural from either side of the plate, a true rarity among young switch-hitters. Defensively, he attacked the ball and moved through it with purpose to generate momentum to the target. Throws left his hand very well, and carried through the target with strength. He appears capable of playing any of the three OF positions, with a likely move to either corner spot as he matures physically. Overall, an immensely talented player with exciting future potential, and easily among the most interesting in the 2017 class.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
