06/10/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Drew continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Offensively, he continues to shine with pro level hitting / power potential. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage - resulting in a barrel explosion (96 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. Drew has the makings of a special type player and will be a solid 2018 draft guy.

10/15/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Drew continues to get better and better each time we see him. He put on a very impressive display at the BF UA Futures event showing the same advanced ability to hit that we have come to expect from him. As he continues to mature physically the bat speed has increased and the ball comes off the bat even louder. During BP Drew launched several balls over the RF fence while staying with the same approach that allows him to center balls consistently off the barrel. In game play, Drew went 2-2 with a walk, hitting the ball hard both times. He is a versatile defender who showed well both in the OF and at !B with good hands and athletic actions. His 6.51 in the 60 was the fastest we have seen him run and he is now in a unique place as 6'4"/205 pound prospect with that kind of speed, an advanced hit tool and LH power.

06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South This is a tall, athletic prospect who shows versatility in the field and is a very advanced hitter with great feel at the plate. At first and in the outfield, Drew is rangy and shows off an accurate arm that plays at both positions. He takes good routes and angles to the ball and has good hands to field. At the plate, Drew has a direct, level bat path and excellent bat speed to get to and through the ball, spraying missiles to all fields. He has good leverage and and generates some pop to show extra base power. This is an extremely talented young player who has the skill set for the next level.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Drew can flat out hit! He has outstanding hand/eye coordination with a short, direct path to the ball, allowing him to find the barrel over and over again. His swing is well-coordinated and has a full finish through contact putting everything in place for future power as he matures physically. He has a very unique profile as a 6'4”, 195-pound outfielder who is athletic and has some explosive actions (7.0 in the 60 and 9'11” broad jump). Drew is a confident defender who glides to balls, has good hands and has an accurate arm. This young prospect looks to be a future run producer who should hit in the middle of a lineup at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
