01/18/2016 - College PREP - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Drew is a strong/athletic R/R OF who can swing it. Offensively, this righty shows a balanced setup with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick as he whips the barrel to and through the zone, creating extension. He hits the ball where it's pitched and drives it with pop to the gaps (exit velocity = 85 mph). In the OF, Drew takes good routes/angles and tracks down fly-balls with speed. He works into position behind the ball, secures it with 2-hands and works in-line toward his target, firing accurate throws. Willis is a well-rounded OF who will play at a high level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
