07/23/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Dustin is a tall, strong, and athletic RHP/OF who has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.49 60 time. In the OF, he utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls playing through with momentum to his target. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 68-73 mph with slight sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds ore arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is outstanding as he has a positive attitude, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Dustin has the makings of a special type player with time and room to continue to improve.
