08/10/2011 - Pirate City World Series 2011 - Session 2 Dustin is a thin and athletic looking two-way player that will graduate in 2012. Defensively at 3B he shows a good pre-pitch setup with active feet and he plays through the ball well. He shows a quick and clean exchange and has the ability to throw from all different arm slots. He needs to continue to improve his quickness in his feet and have a wider base. This will help him to get his hands out front a bit more. At the plate is where he made a big jump from his previous evaluation. He has good hand separation with balance and a level swing path. He showed the ability to get his pitch and when he did, there was good strength to his swing. He can continue to develop at the plate by having a better load with his lower body which will help him get more out of his legs to drive the ball. On the mound he shows the ability to work quickly, compete and has a projectable frame. He needs to continue to long toss to build arm strength and have better extension to his target to keep from falling off towards first base.
