08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 14-18) Dylan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved though a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap-to-gap pop. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 3 for 6 with a 2B. At 3B, he displays proper footwork around as he works around and squares balls up. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls through a low approach. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player.

07/01/2018 - College PREP - Binghamton, NY Dylan is an athletic 3rd baseman with a thin frame. Defensively, Dylan has active feet, soft hands, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He moves well laterally, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy from multiple arm slots to his target. If Dylan can play more through the ball and follow his throws, defensive skills will further improve. At the plate, Dylan has a tall set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He keeps a still head, flashes decent bat speed, and makes solid contact. Hitting can improve with more lower body, better timing, and a shorter swing path.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
