02/04/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Dayton, OH
Dylan continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.19 range as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone but needs to widen his base in stance / setup. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall, open setup. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work to and through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered.

08/07/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Dublin (Columbus), OH
Dylan continues to work hard on his skills. Behind the dish, he sits in well with athletic actions. He gains ground toward 2B with a clean exchange to throw - pop times now at 2.15. Continuing to strengthen his arm (long toss) will help pop times to drop. As a hitter - Dylan has a balanced/square setup with smooth rhythm to load. He barrels the ball up and drives it back up the middle of the field. Swinging on a shorter/more direct path with increased bat speed will result in more power. This 2020 grad is very talented and has a ton of upside as he continues to physically mature.
12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2
Dylan is a hard worker who is very coachable. He showed well during his time at the Winter Classic. Behind the plate, he sits in well with a solid base and presents a low target. He works hard around pitches in the dirt and bodies them up. Transfer/exchange is clean with accurate throws down to 2B - pop times now at 2.24. Continuing to work on his receiving technique (framing) will help to improve his skills behind the dish. Offensively, Dylan shows an athletic setup with good balance. He tracks pitches into the zone and waits for his pitch. Barrel delivery is level as he connects and hits line-drives (3 singles at the event). Improving his rhythm to load will help to improve timing and contact consistency. Dylan has upside with still a ton of time to develop.
