05/30/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lawrenceville (Atlanta), GA Dylan is a solid, strong catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. Pop times showed in 2.02 range with accuracy and zip (82 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter but projects better as a LHH. He is aggressive as he attacks balls through a level swing path. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and he has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. With 2 years to further develop, Dylan has an upside and will make an immediate impact at the next level with his offensive / defensive abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
