05/28/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Dylan is an athletic and talented 2020 2-way prospect. In the OF, Dylan is on time with his prep step, he has an efficient first step to the ball, and creates angels. He works behind the ball, has a strong arm, and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Dylan starts in a crouched stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and stays balanced through contact. He creates backside drive with his lower half and attacks the inside part of the ball. He stays behind the ball and is a line drive hitter. On the bump, Dylan gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and stays directional toward the plate. He throws from multiple arm angels and pounds the ball down in the zone. In 3 innings of work he had 5 k's. Dylan has improved since we last saw him and we hope to see his progree again in the future.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Dylan is an athletic and talented 2020 2-way prospect. In the OF, Dylan is on time with his prep step, he anticipates the ball off the bat, and works behind the ball. He fields the ball in front of his body and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing. He has a plus arm and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Dylan hits from both sides of the plate and has a good approach from each side. On the left side, he starts in a relaxed stance, gets his front foot down on time, and attacks the inside part of the ball. He makes consistent hard contact and shows pull side pop. From the right side, Dylan in an open stance and sees the ball deep into the contact zone. He creates backside drive with his lower half, keeps the barrel flat to the ball, and drives the ball to all fields. On the bump, Dylan has command of all three pitches and has good tempo in his delivery. He finds a balance point over his back leg, rides his back leg toward the plate, and separates on time. He has run on his fastball, a tight spin on his curveball, and shows feel for the change up down in the zone. Dylan is a hard worker and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Dylan is a very talented, switch hitting, 2-way prospect (1B/LHP) who can make things happen in a variety of ways. With the bat, he shows similarly from both sides of the dish. He has an aggressive approach with active hands and gets back into a strong loaded/launch position and is ready to fire. Swing is quick through a compact swing path as he squares the ball up with some pop. He engages his lower 1/2, creates torque and creates extension through contact. At 1B, he has active prep and moves well on the balls of his feet. He presents his glove, low and out in front. DP feeds are accurate with a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this crafty lefty has a 3-pitch arsenal (FB, CB, SL) in which to keep hitters guessing. Arm works loosely and quickly as he attacks the zone. FB cracks the mitt at 85 mph while showing good arm-side run. Slider has sharp/tight spin as he commands it well in any count. He has the ability to change his arm angle which just gives hitters yet another thing to think about when in the box. Dylan is a projectable 2-way player (2020 grad) who is one to keep an eye on over the next couple of years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
