01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Dylan is a talented 1B prospect who has a strong, athletic build. As a right-handed hitter, Dylan has an open setup with comfortable hands. He has an activated load with controlled rhythm and a short, square stride. He rotates his core and engages his lower half throughout his swing. Dylan has a short swing path and gets good extension at contact. He consistently lands the barrel to the baseball. Dylan has the ability to drive the ball to each gap with power. In the field, Dylan plays with effective footwork and the proper angels. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a good position with sure hands. Dylan works through the baseball with good momentum towards his target. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot showing accurate results. Overall, Dylan has skill on both sides of the ball and can make an impact at the next level.

07/25/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Dylan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and he is a prospect on the diamond. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying tremendous hitting with near pro level power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 9 with a 2B and HR. At 1B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he and displays proper foot work around the bag. Glove action is soft, presents well out front and consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy to his throws but he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable, and plays the game hard. Dylan has the tools to play at the next level and will make some school a special type player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
