07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Dylan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/21/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Bradenton (Tampa Bay), FL Dylan is a tall, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Dylan has presentable hands, efficient footwork, and he shows good range to the ball. He covers ground, makes plays, and has a clean exchange with accuracy from a loose arm action to his target. On the mound, Dylan has a balanced delivery, he keeps his head on target, and has a controlled landing toward home plate. He gets good extension on his pitches and is around the zone. At the plate, Dylan has a square set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He has fast bat speed, pop in his bat, and he can work it to all fields. Overall skills can improve if Dylan can work on the following.

Infield
1. Play lower
2. Fielding position
3. Release
Pitching
1. Balance
2. Finish
3. Off-speed
Offense
1. Loosen grip
2. Lower body
3. Swing path/barrel accuracy

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
