08/25/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Dylan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities since the last time we saw him. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.20 runner. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 57-59 mph with 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with cutting action. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.63 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. He shows a squared setup and receives the ball well. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to get his body down sooner. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive path with power showing only to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

05/26/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Murfreesboro (Nashville), TN Dylan is a RHP/C prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Dylan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Dylan shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-63mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 61-64mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release more can help Dylan improve as a pitcher. Behind the plate, Dylan moves efficiently to block and receives with a firm glove. He throws from a low 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to the 2B bag. Dylan can improve defensively by making a quicker exchange. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a solid swing from both sides. He sets up in a tall stance and works to barrel up the baseball, making solid contact. Taking a shorter stride can help Dylan improve as a hitter. Overall, Dylan is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

08/26/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Dylan showed as a catcher for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the dish, pop times showed in the 2.59 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Glove action is soft / clean with setup improving as he improves his flexibility. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but will benefit by getting down sooner. At the plate, he showed as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Dylan is a lean, wiry two-way prospect who works hard to get better and takes coaching well. He can spot up on the mound, working to both sides of the plate and pitching ahead in the count. He features a mid 60's fastball with sinking action along with an 11-5 curveball from a high 3/4 delivery. He works quickly, keeping the hitter off balance and forces lots of weak contact by pitching to the corners of the zone. Behind the plate, he tracks the ball well as he works around to receive and stick pitches in the zone. He has a clean exchange to throw and hit feet work well as he gets rid of the ball down to second. Working on his collapse to block will allow him to keep more dirt balls in front. At the dish, he shows centered balance as he tracks the ball to the bat, showing feel for his zone. He uses his lower half well and his head stays still as he makes line drive contact to all fields. Dylan is an intriguing prospect we look forward to watching develop further.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
