08/01/2012 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Mullins showed as a LHP/OF at the event but currently projects best on the mound for the next level. Arm strength has improved as he threw his best velocity on the mound, topping out at 82 mph. His fastball showed a range of 78-82 mph with slight arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. His changeup is his best off speed pitch, showing a solid feel for with slight arm side run. Dylan's control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches, changing speeds well. In the OF, his foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 6.84 60 time. He utilizes his quick feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. For defensive grades to continue to improve, he needs to work on getting behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. At the plate, Dylan shows a balanced setup and gets into a strong launch position. Hands work through a level swing path but he needs to work on getting his stride foot down sooner to work on time and improve defensive grades. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works his tail off to be the best he can be.
