12/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Dylan is a coachable C/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Winter Classic. Behind the plate, Dylan sits in a relaxed primary stance and presents a good target to the pitcher, receiving with a strong glove. He gets into an athletic secondary stance and gains ground when throwing to 2B, keeping his throws to the 1B side fo the bag. He is efficient moving to block and takes good angles to the ball. Loosening his arm action to throw can help Dylan improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets his hands activated and gets good extension through his swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact. Dylan can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. With four more years to develop, Dylan has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
