07/29/2015 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Speer continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with the makings of a special type player at the next level. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a superior runner at 6.80. At SS, he utilizes his quick / athletic feet in his lateral movements, displaying range in the MIF. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He is sure handed and shows big play potential as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life and on line carry to his throws. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a direct / level swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Dylan will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his outstanding baseball abilities.

04/19/2015 - College PREP - Lodi (Sacramento), CA Dylan is an athletic R/R MIF who can pick it. At SS, he shows quick/active footwork moving well around the GB. He gathers smoothly, working from the ground-up. Transfer/exchange is quick/clean as he fires accurate throws across the diamond. With the bat, this righty displays a square setup with good balance. He has on-time rhythm, working back into a loaded position. Swing is quick as he drives his lower 1/2 and can spray the ball to the gaps. Speer has a solid all-around skill-set and will find success on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
