Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/3BPosition Projection

07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Vero Beach (Ages 12-14) Dylan is a young, tall infielder and RHP. Defensively, at 3B, Dylan squares the ball up well and isn't afraid to attack the ball to keep it in front of him. He has firm hands and shows some athleticism and will improve as he works on his footwork, agility and range. On the mound, he is very accurate with an over-the-top release with short arm action and complete finish. Balance point is very controlled and he will continue to improve his arm strength. Offensively, Dylan stands tall, keeps his stride short, works his hips through and flashes good bat speed and pop. With his strength, he will become a better hitter by improving his launch position and timing.

05/19/2013 - Interactive Video Program - San Antonio, TX Dylan is a tall, 2-way player with a thin frame. At 3B, Dylan has active feet, firm hands, and he plays through the ball well. He has range to the glove side, his exchange is quick, and he throws with a short arm action across the diamond. On the mound, Dylan has a short / loose arm, good direction toward home, and he keeps his shoulders level. Offensively, Dylan has an open stance, he lets the ball travel, and he makes consistent contact. He swings in good rhythm and can hit to all fields. Abilities can improve if Dylan can work on the following.

Infield
1. Soften glove
2. Body control
3. Long toss
Pitching
1. Balance point
2. Finish / Bend
3. Lengthen / loosen arm action
Offense
1. Keep hands high
2. More lower 1/2
3. Stride / Load

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
