09/01/2012 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Commuter) (Ages 12-14) Dylan had a great weekend and showed the ability to make good adjustments. The biggest thing is making sure he stays consistent with his set up. He can continue to focus on his feet staying shoulder width apart with good flex in his waist. He showed a ton of improvement with his load but can focus on the timing, making sure he gets good separation from his load to his swing. When he loads late, his hands tend to get ahead of his hips, which in the end will decrease his power. By keeping his hands back and allowing his lower half to work he will be able to drive the ball with more consistency. Dylan showed good hand action with good barrel accuracy and consistent contact. A good drill for him would be working off the tee making sure that when he finishes his swing his front leg is locked and his back heel is over his toe. By focusing on the areas above with hard work Dylan should show improvements in his overall swing mechanics.
