Official Scouting Report

  • LHP/1BPosition Projection

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Eamon is a 1B/LHP prospect who showcased his skills during the All-Region Tournament. In the field, Eamon fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands and makes consistent throws to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Eamon field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He shows smooth rhythm and sprays the ball to all fields. Eamon can barrel up more baseballs by taking a more level swing path. On the mound, Eamon shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 57mph. Breaking ball sits from 48-50mph with 11-5 break. Only a 2026 grad, Eamon still has a lot of time to further progress his skills on the field.

07/18/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Eamon is a lean LHP/1B who will graduate in 2026. At 1B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 56-58 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 6 years to further develop, Eamon has a lot of potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

10/13/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Lexington, KY Eamon is a young, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the mound, Eamon has good balance, a clean arm circle, and he separates his hands on time. He gets good front arm extension, lands with good direction toward home, and he throws strikes. Eamon works out of the stretch and shows a nice upside. Defensively, Eamon has active feet, soft hands, and he fields athletically. He gets in a good ready position, his exchange is quick and clean, and he throws with accuracy and momentum to his target. At the plate, this LHH has a tall/square stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He makes square/consistent contact and taps into his lower body. Solid overall skills can improve with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Long toss
2. Off-speed
3. Wind-up
Defense
1. Play more through
2. Lighten feet
Offense
1. Let ball travel
2. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
