01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Eamonn continued to show as a solid prospect at the UAAAPS Tournament. In the field, Eamonn shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to be consistently on-line to his target. He showed his well above average defensive abilities during game play where he made two spectacular catches near the wall. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and finishes with a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard contact to all fields. On the mound, Eamonn shows a repeatable delivery and commands his pitches well. He has a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph. Slider sits at 72mph with 9-3 break. Changeup sits at 75mph as he throws with fastball arm speed. Eamonn is a skilled prospect who has upside on the diamond.

09/10/2017 - College PREP - Knoxville, TN Eamonn is solid, athletic OF/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is excellent as indicated by his 60 time of 6.98. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls in taking proper routes / angles. Feet are aggressive as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy, and on line carry on his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Eamonn has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
