11/24/2019 - College PREP - Shreveport, LA Easton is a C prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, Easton shows active footwork and covers up well when blocking. He sits in a low stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to the 2B bag. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and shows smooth rhythm. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid pop to his pull side. Overall, Easton is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Easton continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.72. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone but needs to present a lower target. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner and improve his lateral movements. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball and shows plus barrel accuracy through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 66 mph. Fastball showed a range of 62-66 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He slows his arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Control is a plus as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/05/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Plano (DFW), TX Easton is an athletic/strong/projectable (5'5"/170) C/RHP. With the bat, this LHH displays a closed stance with rhythm to load. Swing is on-plane as he connects with some pop and extends well through the zone, hitting line-drives. Behind the plate, Easton sits in well and tracks pitches into his mitt. He is quick to block and does a good job gaining ground and centering the ball off of his chest. Transfer is clean with accuracy on his throws to 2B, pop times at 2.78. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix (FB, CUT, CH) coming from a 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and keeps his eyes on the target. FB ranges from 63-65 mph while showing tailing action. He commands it well and throws it for strikes consistently. Cutter has 10/4 shape with some tilt. Continuing to work on the following will help to improve his overall skills on the diamond.

Offense
1. Relax/loosen grip
2. More lower 1/2 drive
3. Contact points
Catching
1. Lateral quickness
2. Transfer/exchange
Pitching
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Arm action (loosen/lengthen)
3. Stay directional

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
