01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament This athlete continues to shine. With the glove, quick/active footwork on the balls of his feet help him to move fluidly right and left. Ball is quick from glove to hand as he has a good transfer/release. At the plate, Easton has a knack for barreling the ball up. He remains selective, waits for his pitch and delivers the barrel on a short/compact path. On the mound, Brown fills up the zone and throws strikes with all 3 pitches. He attacks hitters and challenges them, mixing well. He has a very effective knuckleball as it shows good bite and will be a tough pitch for hitters to square up. Easton (2016 grad) has the makings to be a solid player at the next level.

11/01/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Futures Texas Easton is a young 2016 grad with upside. He is a refreshing combination of mechanically sound fundamentals and a high baseball IQ. His swing is clean and his approach is geared for gap-to-gap line drives. He has good strike zone discipline and a feel for the barrel. As a defender he is comfortable around the bag and going to both the forehand and backhand sides. He has carry to his throws and anticipates well. Overall, Easton has an excellent foundation and should become an impact player as he continues to mature.

07/15/2013 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Brown continues to show plus abilities in his baseball tools. Defensive abilities are well above average as he utilizes his feet well in attacking ground balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft / clean / sure and he shows big play potential in the MIF. He needs to improve foot quickness to continue to improve grade. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Easton shows an open / athletic setup with balance. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with power numbers improving as he learns to use his lower half more.

12/27/2012 - Under Armour Recruiting Classic Easton is a young, talented middle INF with good skills. Defensively, Easton showed sure hands, he takes good angles to the ball, and he works around it well. He fields aggressively, flashes a good backhand, and he throws with a loose arm to his target. Offensively, Easton has good balance, a middle approach, and he tracks the ball well. He swings in good rhythm, and can spray to all fields. Easton has a very good attitude, good knowledge of the game, and is very coachable.

10/06/2012 - 2012 Team One Texas Showcase Easton continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date but needs to continue to improve foot quickness. Defensive grades are now well above average as he utilizes his feet well in attacking ground balls through an aggressive / low approach. He moves well laterally and displays soft / clean / sure hands. Throws are accurate but needs to continue to improve arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting grades have improved as well through a balanced setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a solid line drive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel with power numbers improving as he adds more overall body strength.

07/17/2012 - College PREP - Carrollton (DFW), TX Easton is a solid, athletic SS/C that will graduate in 2016. At SS, feet are active / aggressive as he attacks ground balls and displays soft / clean hands. Defensive grades will continue to improve as he learns to maintain body control and present hand more out front. Behind the plate, pop times show a range of 2.30-2.40 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking skills show potential as being quality tools at the next level as he continues to improve. At the plate, Brown shows a balanced setup with rhythm. He makes consistent contact and uses his lower half well. For hitting power grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball and use his lower half more. With 4 years to further develop, Easton has abilities with time and room to improve.

06/21/2011 - Interactive Video Program - Houston, TX Easton is a young, thin, 2-way player that plays SS and catches. Defensively, Easton has soft / sure hands, fluid footwork, and he fields in an athletic position. He is aggressive to the ball, he covers ground well, and he plays through properly. Easton has a long / loose arm action and he throws with accuracy and carry to his target. Behind the plate, Easton has quick feet, soft hands, and he looks the ball in properly. He has natural movements, he blocks well, and smothers the ball. Easton has a quick / clean exchange, and he throws with a quick arm action with accuracy and life to his target. At the plate, Easton has a square set-up, a proper load, and a short / square stride. He has good balance, fast bat speed, and a short swing. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
