08/02/2017 - College PREP - Detroit, MI Easton continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, he has improved his hitting potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. At SS, hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / clean and presents well out front. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Fastball showed a range of 78-80 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/31/2016 - College PREP - Detroit, MI Easton is a solid SS/RHP who will graduate in 2018. On the mound, Easton shows a three pitch mix with his fastball ranging from 73-77mph with good arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 69-74mph with sharp 11-5 movement. Changeup sits form 68-73mph with good arm side run as he throws with fastball arm speed. Easton can improve as a pitcher by raising his hands before separating in his delivery. In the field, Easton shows good body control and he uses his feet efficiently. He posses sure hands that he presents on time to field the ball. He has a clean exchange and uses the proper footwork to throw which allows his throws to stay on line to his target. Easton can improve defensively by incorporating a long toss program to build up his arm strength. At the plate, Easton shows good balance in the box and has a square stride to the ball. He shows fluid movements getting into his load as he activates his hands. He takes a direct route to the ball and extends well through the zone. He rotates his core well which leads to good bat speed coming through the zone. Easton can improve as a hitter by using his lower half more throughout his swing. Overall, Easton is a talented prospect and with two more years to develop he has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
