01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Easton is a talented/athletic R/R OF prospect who continues to progress and showed well during his time at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Defensively, he works lightly on the balls of his feet and takes good routes/angles to track down fly-balls hit to his right and left. He works fluidly through the ball, has a quick exchange and fires strong throw (90 mph) with zip into his target. At the plate, he is a solid top of the line-up type of guy who battles. Hands are quick whipping the barrel through the zone as he connects and hits line-drive consistently. He hits the ball where it's pitched and has the ability to spray it to all parts of the field. This 2020 OF leaves it all on the field. He is one to keep an eye on as he enters his junior season.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Easton is a coachable OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Easton shows active footwork and is very agile covering ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball with soft hands. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to remain accurate and on-line to his target. Easton can improve defensively by getting behind fly balls. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He comes through the zone with decent bat speed and produces solid line drives. Easton can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Easton is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

11/05/2017 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Easton is a lean, athletic 2020 outfielder with the physical traits that jump off the page. He is an absolute burner with blazing speed to track down balls in the outfield and swipe bags with ease. He goes back on the ball really well, showing his agility and athleticism by flipping his hips and getting to full speed in very few strides. He has a quick first step and takes good angles to the ball, playing through to throw with lots of carry. At the dish, he consistently barrels the ball to spray frozen ropes to all fields and show pop to the pull side. He is smooth to load and stride, launching his quick bat through the zone with strong wrists and covers the whole zone well. Working to keep his bat path direct to the ball will result in a better ability to react to off speed pitches. Easton is a very exciting, young prospect who has a bright future in the game.

11/13/2016 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Easton is a lean, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is tremendous as indicated by his 60 time of 6.81. In the OF, he shows smooth / clean actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he reads balls well off the bat. He is aggressive and gets behind balls with his feet / body and plays through with momentum to target. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate he shows a squared, athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap to gap pop. Power will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Easton has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
